Morgan Hungerford West is a DC artist + creative resource, using hands-on visuals and innate-internet-know-how to create moments and content. Online + IRL, her work makes you feel like you're in the right place.
Last year she sourced 236 individual, vintage nightstands in 60 days (one at a time, and across 8 states) for The LINE Hotel, and in 2012 designed + sewed a 700 sq. ft, gypset-style tent commission for the garden of The Textile Museum. Her home has been featured on Design*Sponge and Apartment Therapy; one time she googled herself and found that Refinery29 had referred to her as a "visual genius" on Pinterest, but she never really figured out how to relay that to her parents in a way that made it mean something.
Since 2006 she's used new media to promote DC's creative community and creative economy – Nylon Magazine once described her online projects as "a virtual clubhouse representing DC's creative class," and as founder/director of @aCreativeDC + the half-million-strong #aCreativeDC, she promotes emerging, established, and diverse DC perspectives to an audience of ~100k.
